The name is derived from the Greek for Helios (sun) and Chrysos (gold). The perennial, also known as the Italian strawflower, reflects the intensity of the sun with its radiant yellow flower heads and captures the beauty and liveliness of the maquis. In German, the perennial is therefore also called the "immortal". Not only visually, but also olfactorily, the warm, spicy scent transports us to the enchanting island world of the eastern Adriatic.
